Application of PVD and CVD in hardware industry

PVD (physical vapor deposition): physical method (such as evaporation, sputtering, etc.) is used to vaporize the coating material on the substrate surface and deposit it into a covering layer. The process of using physical process to realize material transfer and transfer atoms or molecules from source to substrate surface. Its function is to spray some particles with special properties (high strength, wear resistance, heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, etc.) on the matrix with lower performance, so that the matrix has better performance.

CVD (chemical vapor deposition): a method of chemically reacting gas on the surface of matrix material and forming a covering layer. It is a process technology in which reactive substances react chemically under gaseous conditions to produce solid substances, which are deposited on the heated solid matrix surface, and then solid materials are prepared. It essentially belongs to the gaseous mass transfer process in the atomic category.

CVD or PVD are also is a coating methods Like nickel plating, gold plating and zinc plating, the function of the coating is to increase wear resistance and corrosion resistance

Difference between PVD and CVD:

PVD is thinner than CVD, and the coating thickness of CVD is 10 ~ 20 μ m. The coating thickness of PVD is only 3 ~ 5 μ M or so. The treatment temperature of PVD is about 500 ℃, while the temperature in CVD furnace is 800 ~ 1000 ℃. It can be seen that because of the high temperature, CVD has high temperature resistance requirements for the treated materials

CVD is the better environmentally friendly and wear-resistant coating method at present. It can be used in many fields, such as clock and watch industry, hardware industry, automobile industry, catering industry and so on.
